This tree collection is something I am really proud of because kids love to learn how to draw realistic looking trees and I have had lots of success showing them how in a fun way they get excited about, Both these lessons are truly fabulous and each one has a different focus. “A Tree Planted By A River” teaches many concepts. This lesson has lots of tree info, step by step instructions on how to create the trees and oil pastel and painting techniques. This lesson also features a beautiful gradient sunset that the kids learn how to create. The focus of “Trees Clapping Praise” is on creating all different stylized trees then cutting them out and assembling them in a collage fashion on a background the kids also create that focuses on line and space as elements of art. I absolutely love each one of these and the kids will too as they learn about how we are like trees planted by a river and about how trees clap praise to Jesus!

This is an amazing lesson with instructions the kids can follow easily to achieve complete success in drawing trees. There are the step by step instructions along with many full reference drawings the kids can use as they draw from observation of reference drawings. They will use oil pastels and watercolor to complete their composition. They will learn how to create a gradient background sky in warm colors for a sunset or a cool blue colors if they so choose. There is complete tree info including the parts of a tree along with a beautiful Bible component by Pastor Larry Conan that teaches how we as God's children are like trees planted by a river. Trees Clapping Praise
A lesson with many stylized reference trees to draw then assemble in a collage showing distance as an element of art. 4th - 8th
This lesson was a blast to make and the kids loved being able to choose where to put what stylized tree as they learn about space as an element of art. There are so many different stylized trees that the kids can choose to draw in all different sizes in this lesson. They will create a one of a kind landscape that focuses on the correct trees in the correct proportions to show space as an element of art as distance seen within the composition. We use markers for the trees and oil pastel for the landscape and the landscape focuses on line as an element of art. The Bible part of this is awesome as we learn about how all of creation praises the One who holds all things together... Jesus!
