This lesson is all about organic shapes and lines connected together by an abstract heart that represents our heart. This lesson is another lesson where every work is completely different. The kids loveded starting with a big heart then having freedom to flow off of it using lines to create abstract shapes any way they wanted as non- objective abstract shapes. The lesson focuses on teaching the kids how the elements of art and the principles of design work together to create a beautiful non objective work of art that has meaning to the creator of the work, and can speak to others also. We learned about proportion balance and contrast as principles of design as we filled up the picture plane.  The lesson teaches that the word of God is what shapes our hearts, which is why this lesson is so perfect as a tangible way to express this beautiful Biblical truth.
